4 Best Getting-Ready Outfits For Your Wedding Day

As the bride, you not only have to pick outfits for every shower, rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon, and hello THE dress, but what the heck are you going to wear while getting ready on the big day?! Here’s a mini guide to help you define your getting-ready vibe on your wedding day based on your preference of alcohol to take the edge off. Cheers to finding the perfect getting-ready bridal party outfit!

Comfy & Cute in PJ Sets | Mimosas (Heavy on the Champs, Please!)

So I’m a little biased since this is the getting-ready style I went with for my wedding. I searched everywhere for a cute and comfy PJ set for my girls. J. Crew was out of my budget considering I had 11 bridesmaids and the Etsy shop I fell in love with was closed on a month-long vacay. I felt like I was never going to find the perfect getting-ready outfit for my girls and me. I finally stumbled upon the softest button-down PJ shirt from Target and got them all monogrammed at Monogram Express in Metairie. To this day, the girls still tell me how much they love them and how it’s their go-to PJ after #sundayfunday and #netflixandchill nights. Like PJ sets, mimosas are a safe bet; no need to venture out of your comfort zone on the big day. Plus you can take PJ sets from basic to cute with a pattern or monogram. Likewise, dress up your mimosa with cotton candy, strawberries or paper straws.

Festive in Jazz Fest Shirts | Bloody Mary with Alllllll the Garnishes

I absolutely love this idea of gifting your girls a fun Jazz Fest printed shirt – it’s original, colorful, comfortable and local. Emily Diament had this genius idea and I’m jealous I didn’t think of it first, ha! My personal favorite print is worn by the bride below called Moonlit Magnolias. Bold brides may opt for a Bloody Mary to toast the morning of their big day. While also an iconic morning ritual in New Orleans, the Bloody Mary is a beautiful blend of mix-ins and flavors. Stand out, add some spice and enjoy!

Trendy in Tunic Tees | Yes Way Frosé

For a more relaxed look on your wedding day, tunic tees and slippers could be more your getting-ready style. Personalize it with a cute saying such as “Makeup and Mimosas” or “Best Day Ever.” This trendy tunic tee is making a splash thanks to the comfort chic designs by our favorite MuMu girls. Like a fun, chill and refreshing glass of frosé, we think this trend is here to stay.

Classy & Sassy in Robes | Winos for the Win

The most common getting-ready attire, yes, but there are so many different options of materials, colors and styles of robes to choose from to reflect your own aesthetic - just like there are so many variations of wine to try! A few of my favorite getting-ready bridal party robe styles include soft satin, Southern seersucker and cotton floral. Bonus: Add a pop of color with your maid’s monogram to make it extra personalized. Perhaps you favor a glass of vino over a cocktail? Well I’m here to tell you that you can’t go wrong with this classic choice. We are here for the white sangria and spritzers - see, so many options in this one getting-ready style.

Tip: Recommend to your girls to bring a pair of PJ shorts to wear underneath the robes, and please tell someone to bring a bottle opener! ;)

Last things to keep in mind when deciding on your getting-ready outfit: Picture the backdrop of where you’ll be taking your getting-ready photos so colors won’t clash. Also, the bride doesn’t have to be in white! It’s your day so wear anything that sparks joy and makes you feel your best.
